The social media presently stands as a
repository for videos, songs, and images. This is as a result of daily upload
and posts that are put up regularly by users. Although there are different
reasons why these uploads are made, everything that is uploaded is usually
stored in a database at the backend and viewed and or downloaded in the
subsequent future. It is important to state categorically that the social media
was not in any way built to be a database for media files but nonetheless, it
needs to serve as a one in order to be able to achieve the purpose for which it
was created.
Consider social media: Instagram as an
example. Uploading and downloading instagram photos can be fun. This social
media is basically a platform for the upload of music, videos, and pictures.
People share their cherished moments with loved ones that are distant from or
in proximity with them through this platform. There is usually no limit to the
number of uploads or post you can make on this platform. Though there may not
be a defined limit to the number of posts, there is usually a defined limit to
the size of the image, video etc. that is can be uploaded. This is for the
purpose of space conservation and easy download by those who may view and
desire to have the media file offline on their media device.
