How Sunday school helps teachers improve leadership skills

Thirdly, sunday school lessons train and mobilize laity for Church leadership among other leadership positions. In the Sunday school setup, it is always difficult to determine which party benefits more. Is it the student or the teacher? As far as the teacher is concerned, his/her Bible care and knowledge grows continuously and changes his/her life. This stretching continues to occur as the teacher’s leadership skills are slowly developed. On the other hand, students are challenged on various fronts and learn more about leadership at the same time.

It is important for Christians to understand that Sunday school is all about discipleship. In other words, every teacher or shepherd must have the desire to see students in their flock change their lives spiritually. Discipleship is all about teaching people to obey everything that God has commanded. It is not simply about teaching Christians facts but also teaching them about obedience. While there are different forms of discipleship, Sunday school is the entry-level discipleship to every Christian regardless of age.
