Why some phones can be reversed and others cannot

Regardless of the main reason why you want to check caller info, reverse phone lookup can help you identify any information you want about the caller. For those living in North America, all their North American Number Plan (NANP) phone numbers can easily be reversed. The NANP numbers have a three-digit code area and seven-digit number which is basically a user’s phone number. Other numbers that can potentially be reversed include wireless numbers, fax numbers, business phone numbers, landline residential numbers and prepaid phone numbers.

It should be noted that not all numbers could be reversed. This is because some numbers are difficult to reverse than others. For instance, it is difficult to reverse business phone numbers than it is to residential phones. Moreover, cellular phones are the most difficult phones to find more information about a caller. This means that if the person who calls you uses a cellular phone, you will be lucky to find the person’s information using reverse phone lookup. In some cases, getting caller information using reverse phone lookup will mostly depend on the service you are using.
